This program has been the backbone of the farm since we began in 2007. We started with 45 families and have grown to over 180 families in 2020. This year, we continue to grow what we grow best and maintain our multi-farm CSA that supports the regional foodshed and ensures that the highest quality and widest variety of vegetables are offered in the weekly share. Full shares and half shares are offered between the months of June and November. The summer program is 11- 20 weeks. We also offer a Fall CSA program that continues until the end of November. Off site pick-up points are located throughout the Pocono's, Easton and Bethlehem area.
The Josie Porter Farm has 48 acres, and 5 of those acres are in vegetable production, enclosed by a deer excluder fence. We grow over 30 varieties of vegetables using regenerative farming practices. A weekly share is provided from this bounty, supplemented with some off-farm products grown to our standards by local farmers. Shares are picked up on-farm either on Wednesdays or Fridays between 3 pm and 6 pm and deliveries to drop off sites are arranged with the pick-up site location. Share pick-ups usually begin the first or second week of June. Memberships are now available for the 2021 CSA program. On-farm pickup is on Wednesdays or Fridays between 3-6 pm.
*We do offer payment plans and accept EBT SNAP Benefits for payment of CSA Membership.
Cherry Valley CSA, a program of the Josie Porter Farm, eight minutes south of Stroudsburg in Northeastern Pennsylvania, offers families an opportunity to partake in fresh, locally grown, organic produce. Families who participate by purchasing shares in the farm support the cost of raising these delicious vegetables and help maintain the environmental and scenic quality of the beautiful Cherry Valley area of the Pocono Mountains. The local community of shareholders becomes connected with and mindful of the real needs of our Earth, the Valley, and our farms.

Member pick-ups will be at the Josie Porter Farm. Farm distributions are held on Wednesday’s and Fridays from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
When you first walk up to our Distribution Center tables, there will be a large dry erase board listing the vegetables and quantities of vegetables in your share for this week as well as which pick your own (PYO) crops can be picked.
The vegetables in your share (all except PYO) will be packed in boxes and ready for you to pick-up when you arrive. Due to Covid we are not offering a market style CSA at this time.
You will be receiving an e-newsletter each week that highlights what you will be receiving in your share, news from the field, and recipe suggestions. Let us know if you do not have Internet access and we can make paper copies available.
Finally, picking up your produce is meant to be a relaxing experience. Take a moment to get to know other shareholders, exchange recipes, take a hike, see the fields and greet the farmers & farmhands.
If you are going to be away on your distribution day, you are responsible for arranging with a neighbor, friend, or relative to pick up and/or use your share. Or, if you need another day to pick up your share, please let us know a week ahead of time by calling 570-992-5731 or emailing jpfarm@ptd.net. Otherwise, we’ll donate your food to a local food bank, non-CSA member volunteers, or soup kitchen.
Please don’t expect us to have a share for you if you haven’t notified us that you will not be there. All food that is left unaccounted for is donated, composted, or fed to our chickens.
We are now taking new CSA memberships for the 2021 CSA season. If you have further questions about the CSA, please feel free to contact us at 570-992-5731 or jpfarm@ptd.net
